Electronic Files
Our preferred method of receiving electronic files is either on a disk or via e-mail. When supplying a disk, we prefer to get IBM formatted disks, but we can convert from Mac disks when necessary. If you are supplying us with a Macintosh file, please convert all type fonts to outlines before saving the file. When sending us a file via e-mail, please send it as an attachment to artwork@nelsonusa.com.
It is always a good idea to supply a hard copy print of the image along with any electronic file so that we can ensure that the file was imported correctly.
Mechanical Drawings
The primary software used at Nelson for mechanical drawings is AutoCAD. When our customers use AutoCAD, we prefer to get files in .dwg format. In other cases, customers should send us drawings in .dxf or .pdf formats.
Artwork
Nelson can import artwork from most popular programs. The most commonly used software is:
- Corel Draw
- Adobe Illustrator
- Macromedia Freehand
We can also import Bitmapped artwork (.tif, .jpg, .gif, and .bmp). These files should be saved at 300 dpi or greater.
