eTCHed NamePlates
Etched nameplates afford engineers the ability to create an attractive and durable part. The advantage of etching nameplates is that after the test of time, chemical abuse, and weather, the etched copy is legible. Many rating and serial tags use this technology because of its timeless nature.
The etched areas of nameplates are visible by contrast to the natural finish of the metal. The etched areas can also be filled with paint. Because this paint is below the surface of the nameplate, it is less susceptible to abrasion. Nelson has the capability of etching a variety of metallic substrates. The most common materials used are Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and Brass. Aluminum etched nameplates are often used in commercial and aerospace applications. Stainless steel nameplates used in high temperatures and food processing applications. Etched brass nameplates have a unique and elegant look that only brass can offer.
Engraving nameplates can also be used to create an attractive and durable
front panel. In these types of applications the copy is etched
then filled with paint. The fact that the paint is below the surface of the
panel significantly adds to the durability when compared to traditional
screen printing.

Screen Printing Nameplates
Screen printing nameplates is usually the most cost-effective method of imaging a metal nameplate. A polyester screen is created with a stencil that allows epoxy inks to be printed in specific areas. Our computerized color matching system can match almost any color.
