Nelson Nameplate Quality Improvement Process

At Nelson, we give employees the tools they need to do their job right the first time.

In 1990, the management of Nelson made an absolute commitment to a continuous Quality Improvement Process, and today we are more dedicated to this than ever.

The Nelson Quality Improvement Team is made up of 10 step leaders representing every facet of the production process. This team guides the entire Quality Improvement Process, identifying ways to maximize the quality of our products. A key part of this process is employee education.

At Nelson, employees attend classes in Statistical Process Control. We believe that SPC is a valuable tool to improve processes and eliminate non-conformance when appropriate. Because many of the requirements in our industry focus on cosmetic finishes, we have developed standardized objective inspection procedures, and teach classes on the use of these specifications.

Every employee who attends these classes takes an active role in ensuring that the parts we produce are of the utmost quality. Testing is an important part of building reliable products. As a result, Nelson has on-going programs for functional testing, environmental testing, and life-cycle testing.

Between on-going training and testing, every employee is committed to doing their best.
