Rapid Prototyping

At Nelson Nameplate we take pride in being able to develop and deliver rapid prototypes for nameplates and membrane switches quickly and accurately. Nelson's rapid prototype membrane switches can be produced in as few as nine days. Rapid Prototype orders may be for up to 25 parts.

In order to support our customers' rapid prototyping needs, we have invested in laser cutting and digital imaging equipment. Digitally imaged overlays have some limitations, but in most cases meet flexibility, lifecycle and outdoor exposure requirements. Prototypes can have a screen printed overlay, but the lead-time and cost are greater.

Mimaki.JPGRapid Prototype

Our two Mimaki UV Digital printers are used for both rapid prototyping and production.  With their exceptional graphic detail and flexible inks, digitally printed parts meet the expectations of our customers for durability and occasional direct sunlight exposure.  Our Roll to Roll machine allows us to run unattended for larger runs.

Laser Cutting

Laser cutting allows us to hold tight tolerances when cutting many materials. Thicker materials such as steel are especially suited for laser cutting because they are often difficult to die cut. Also, laser cutting can be an ideal alternative to building a die for shorter-run jobs.
